Gratitude Letter to the 25th EUROTAS Conference and Honoring the EUROTAS Global Lineage

Interweaving Indigenous Mexican Sciences with Integral Transpersonal Frameworks toward Pluriversal Epistemologies of Equal Co-Presences and Relational Ontologies

In deep gratitude, I look back to the sacred days of the 25th EUROTAS Global Transpersonal Conference, held in Oaxaca, Mexico (October 2025)Xolotl: Innovations and Traditions in the Arts and Sciences of Being.

Heartfelt appreciation goes to María Islas, Sven Doehner, Instituto Macuil, and all volunteers for their tireless dedication in holding space for this extraordinary convergence of souls, cultures, and disciplines. What unfolded there was more than a conference; it was a living mandala — a ceremony of remembrance and renewal within the EUROTAS Global Lineage, whose members across decades have cultivated the transpersonal vision as a bridge between science, spirituality, and ecology.

The Pre-Conference Retreat: A Living Ceremony of Consciousness

Before the main gathering, an intimate Pre-Conference Retreat unfolded — co-led by EUROTAS President Dr. Pier-Luigi Lattuada and myself, as EUROTAS Board Member Dr. Regina U. Hess.
Together with participants from many lands and traditions, we created the collective Peace Prayer Altar at the Bodhi Tree of the venue, a space where offerings, songs, and prayers became an embodied dialogue among worlds.

This altar grew organically from the hands and hearts of the group: marigold petals, candles, woven textiles, seeds, and sacred waters intermingled with breath, silence, and gratitude.
Each contribution symbolized the interconnection of all beings — a microcosm of what the retreat itself embodied: a field where Indigenous Mexican sciences and integral transpersonal frameworks met in reciprocal reverence.

In that circle, ceremony was pedagogy, and pedagogy became prayer.
The work was not only to learn about consciousness but to be consciousness — together, in relation, within the pulse of Earth and Sky.

Oaxaca: A Portal of Pluriversal Knowing and Being

Oaxaca, with its ancient mountains and living Indigenous cultures, offered a fertile ground for pluriversal epistemologies of equal co-presences and relational ontologies to be experienced rather than theorized.
In this sacred landscape, the transpersonal was not abstract but embodied in every conversation, ritual, and gesture.

Scholars, artists, elders, and practitioners shared perspectives that dissolved disciplinary boundaries and invited a re-membering of knowledge as relational, embodied, and ecological.
Here, knowing and being were inseparable — each act of understanding carried the fragrance of presence; each exchange became a ritual of reciprocity.

Through these intercultural encounters, the EUROTAS Global Network deepened its ongoing commitment to spiritual ecology, planetary ethics, and the cultivation of peace through relational awareness.
The conference thus became both an academic forum and a ceremonial act — a weaving of ancestral wisdom and contemporary research into a living fabric of transformation.

A Living Lineage of Reciprocity

To honor the EUROTAS Global Lineage is to recognize the countless visible and invisible contributors who have sustained this field — founders, elders, teachers, researchers, and the new generations carrying it forward.
Their devotion has shaped a global community grounded in respect, reciprocity, and responsibility, values that resonate profoundly with Indigenous cosmologies and transpersonal ethics alike.

The Oaxaca gathering reaffirmed that the transpersonal movement thrives when rooted in relationship: relationship with Earth, with community, with the unseen dimensions of life.
It reminded us that the future of psychology and spirituality lies not in separation or mastery, but in co-creation and humility, walking together in service of life.

Continuing the Weave: Birthing an Ancient Future

The experiences of the retreat and conference mirror the intention and ongoing work of Birthing an Ancient Future – Multidisciplinary Council of Peace-Builders.
This initiative weaves transpersonal psychology, Indigenous sciences, and psychedelic studies within a planetary framework guided by the Ethics of the Heart.
Its purpose is to nurture educational, ceremonial, and research pathways that heal fragmentation and awaken consciousness through relational practice.

From Oaxaca, the inspiration continues — to bring forward intercultural transpersonal dialogues and planetary education projects that foster collective remembering and regeneration.
May the seeds planted under the Bodhi Tree of Oaxaca flourish in many lands as acts of peace, wisdom, and love for all relations.

In Gratitude and Continuance

To all participants, organizers, volunteers, ancestors, and allies — thank you.
May this letter of gratitude serve as a prayer of continuity and as a bridge between the worlds we inhabit and the worlds we are still dreaming into being.
